Refresh Existing Tiles With Seamless Microcement Finishes
Modern Concrete Effect Surfaces Designed For Easy Cleaning And Contemporary Living.
Modern Tile Transformations Without Full Renovation
Microcement over tile projects often begin when homeowners become frustrated with cracked grout lines, stained surfaces, loose tiles, and interiors that feel dated despite repeated cleaning and repairs. Traditional tiled finishes can quickly lose their appearance through moisture exposure, worn sealants, and uneven surfaces that make kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas feel harder to maintain.
Voytec Decorator Ltd specialises in microcement over tiles installation, designed to solve these issues through seamless decorative coatings applied directly onto existing tiled surfaces. Since 2008, our team has delivered carefully prepared microcement systems using specialist primers, reinforcement layers, and durable sealers that create smooth finishes without the disruption of full tile removal.
Whether renovating a period property near The Stray or updating a modern home in Jennyfields, many Harrogate homeowners look for ways to modernise interiors with less disruption. Microcement applied over existing tiles can create a seamless contemporary finish while reducing the need for extensive demolition when the substrate is properly prepared.
A Careful Process Designed for Seamless Surface Upgrades
- Step 1: Surface Assessment, we inspect the tiled area for movement, damage, moisture exposure, and overall suitability before work begins.
- Step 2: Tile Preparation, surfaces are cleaned, levelled, and reinforced to reduce the risk of cracking while improving adhesion.
- Step 3: Primer and Base Layers, specialist bonding primers and reinforced base coats are applied carefully across the tiled surface.
- Step 4: Microcement Application, multiple thin decorative layers are installed to achieve the selected texture, tone, and finish.
- Step 5: Protective Sealing, durable sealers are added to improve water resistance, durability, and long-term maintenance.

| Reduces renovation mess compared to full tile replacement. | Several thin layers require controlled drying times. |
| Suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, and wet rooms when sealed correctly. | Incorrect sealing can reduce long-term moisture protection. |
| Voytec Decorator Ltd uses specialist preparation methods and reinforced application systems for lasting durability, unlike others who often rely on shortcut installation methods. | Poorly prepared tiled surfaces can lead to cracking or adhesion failure. |

Wojciech was professional and pleasant making the whole process stress-free. He communicated well at every stage and kept us informed of progress.
We are extremely pleased with the finished bathroom and would highly recommend him.
Wojtek was superb with communication. The scope of work and pricing were very clear from the start. Any extra work was priced before starting, so there were no surprises with the final payment.
He was also very reliable. We agreed on the start date three months in advance, and he was completely ready. When my bathroom wasn't ready on time, he was very understanding and delayed the start by a couple of days.
He has literally turned his apartment in to a showroom, every surface is an exhibition of so many finishes I lost count, I actually wish we found him sooner as he offered a textured finish that was exactly what we were looking for in our living room but eventually didn't get to do.
I digress all of these surfaces and finishes made our jobs easier, we could just point out to the finish we liked pick any colours we wanted and a date was set.
Our kitchen was a ground up rework so we were actually delayed twice, but we kept Wojciech in the loop with a weeks notice , and he kept moving dates with us and accommodating the delays.
When he arrived our kitchen was mostly fitted , and he spent a good amount of time masking and protecting everything.
I should stress that our concrete base wasn't well laid and so I can imagine this wasn't a great base to work off but I never heard Wojciech complain, he managed to resolve it with the materials he bought, this I think demonstrates the mark of an excellent tradesman.
In life situations are rarely ideal and how you handle these moments, in my eyes at least, is reflection of character, something Wojciech has plenty of.
He worked to a very strict timeline from the off, and he finished in the timeline he gave at the beginning, so he has an accurate estimation of his own workload.
As any good trades man should he had all the tools he needed. A couple of changes were made throughout on our side, and quite last minute and as a suggestion he recommended finishing an extra wall, and Wojciech never hesitated throughout, he got the extra material where required and worked with us to achieve a finish that exceeded even our expectations.
In the end we all took a step back and just appreciated how good it all looked, we came to him for just a microcement floor and left with a wall in Venetian plaster and a continuous splashback that looks spectacular, especially up close when you can really appreciate the detail.
This review is getting long so I want to outline the main points I really want to hit home for those of you considering these finishes and Wojciech's work.
- Visit his apartment the finishes need to be seen in person and pictures don't accurately reflect how good it really looks. It's
- these finishes are expensive as they are very labour intensive but compared to the national average you'll find Wojciech's prices actually represent good value, again I want to stress it's not cheap, but it's definitely worth it.
- If you want perfection Wojciech is the person to go to, you don't want to hand a job like this to anyone, it's a premium finish, materials are expensive and it requires a skilled hand, rest easy knowing that level of finish will be achieved.
- Wojciech is very approachable, don't worry about asking a million questions, we had many, and the look we wanted was specific, ALL requests were acommadated without any pushback.
